While the overall jackpot was won in Dublin, a Quick Pick ticket purchased on Thursday, April 30th at the Grove Service Station in Baylough, Athlone, netted the lucky holder €146,878. The person matched five numbers and the bonus number.
National Lottery spokesperson Sarah Orr said: “What a weekend it’s been for National Lottery players. A Lotto player in Dublin has officially become Ireland’s newest millionaire after winning Saturday night’s Lotto jackpot worth an impressive €8,726,418. We are encouraging all of our players in the Capital to carefully check their tickets today as one player now holds the title of second Lotto jackpot winner of 2026.
"Saturday night’s draw also saw a Westmeath player win €146,878 after matching five numbers and the bonus in the main draw. Over 101,000 players nationwide won prizes across the Lotto and Plus draws on Saturday night, including the Dublin and Westmeath winners. The two biggest winners of the night are advised to sign the back of their tickets and keep them safe. They should contact the prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for them to visit Lottery Headquarters to collect their prizes," she said.
