Man (30s) arrested after firearm is discharged in County Leitrim

Gardaí are  investigating the discharge of a firearm in Killargue, County Leitrim, on Friday afternoon and have arrested a man.

On Friday, March 7th Leitrim Gardaí responded to an emergency call at a residential location in Killargue, County Leitrim. 

The Armed Support Unit also attended the scene.  Shortly after 3.20 p.m., following an intervention by the Armed Support Unit, including the deployment of a taser, a man was arrested outside the residence, and a firearm was seized.    

The scene is currently preserved for technical examination. The firearm seized is now subject to forensic and ballistic examination.

The man (aged in his 30’s), is currently detained pursuant to Section 30 Offences Against the State Act, 1939/98 at a Garda station in County Leitrim.
