A man in his 60s has died following a single vehicle road collision involving a tractor in County Leitrim.

A man in his 60s has died following a single vehicle road collision involving a tractor in County Leitrim.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the L3355 near Mullaghycullen, Drumcong, on Sunday.

Shortly before 11 p.m. gardaí and emergency services responded to a single vehicle collision involving a tractor on the L3355 near Mullaghycullen, Drumcong, County Leitrim.

A male driver (aged in his 60s) was pronounced deceased at the scene.

His body has since been removed to the mortuary at Sligo University Hospital and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course. The local coroner has been notified.

The road remains closed and the scene will be examined by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.

Road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage and were travelling on the L3355 between 10.30 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Sunday, May 17th are asked to make this available to investigating gardaí.
