Man dies in County Roscommon road tragedy

Gardai are currently at the scene of fatal road  traffic collision in County Roscommon.

A man in his 50s has died in a road tragedy in County Roscommon.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the fatal single-vehicle road traffic incident on a local road at Culleenamore, Kilglass shortly before 7 a.m. this morning, Sunday, October 5th.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene shortly before 7 a.m.. The sole occupant of the vehicle, a man in his 50s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination will be arranged.

The road is currently closed to facilitate a forensic examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.  Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area at the time is asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
