Man dies in tragic County Roscommon accident

A man in his fifties has died in a tragic accident in County Roscommon.

The fatal accident occurred on Thursday evening in the Frenchpark area.

Gardaí confirmed that emergency services were alerted to "a fatal workplace accident at a premises in Frenchpark on Thursday evening, July 18th shortly after 7 p.m.. A male in his 50s was pronounced deceased at the scene. His body has been removed from the scene to the mortuary in Roscommon. A post-mortem will take place in due course."

The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) has been notified.

Gardai added that a file will be prepared for the Coroner's Court.
