Mechanical failure impacting water supplies in West Roscommon

An Uisce Eireaann repair crew is working to restore water to customers in parts of West Roscommon this morning.

A mechanical failure at the Granlanan Water Supply Scheme is leading to homes and businesses in Cloonfad, Granlahan, Ballinlough, Cloonbonniffe, Trien, Loughglynnn, Lisacul and surrounding areas experiencing low pressure or water outages.

Uisce Eireann says that water services crews are on the ground this morning carrying out the necessary repair works. "Every effort is being made to maintain water supply to as many customers as possible," said a spokesperson.

"Uisce Éireann understands the inconvenience of unplanned outages and reduced pressure and we thank customers for their support while the repair works are ongoing this morning."

Repairs are expected to be complete later this morning. "Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers on higher ground or at the end of the network," the spokesperson added.
