Monksland Christmas lights to be switched on this evening

Monksland will be getting into the festive spirit this evening as its Christmas lights will be switched on.
The South Roscommon community’s annual tree lighting ceremony will take place this evening, Friday December 5th at 6.30 pm at the SuperValu carpark in Monksland.
The event is organised in association with the council and Monksland Town Team.
Unfortunately due to the adverse weather conditions, some of its other usual activities have had to be scaled back. But the rain cannot dampen the community's spirits, the lights will still be switched on, and the concert is still going ahead.
The town team said it was not a decision it made lightly and assured everyone it will still be a great night
