Motorists are being advised of temporary traffic restrictions at the N4/N61 junction near Boyle as works continue on a junction improvement Scheme.

The daytime works (approximately 8.am.-6p.m.), which started on Monday, is to facilitate junction tightening.

Temporary stop-and-go traffic lights and a 60km/h speed limit will be in place for the duration of the works, which are expected to last approximately four weeks.

The right-turn lane on the N4 towards Boyle will be closed during the project, with a signed diversion route in operation via the R294.

The works are being carried out by Roscommon County Council's Road Department as part of efforts to improve safety and traffic flow at the junction.
