More frustration as Cloonfad area suffers another water outage

Cloonfad has been hit with another water outage.

It’s yet more frustration for the community of Cloonfad this morning (Monday) following yet another water outage in the area.

Fianna Fáil councillor Paschal Fitzmaurice told the Herald that he had contacted Uisce Éireann, requesting that the burst be repaired as quickly as possible.

The local councillor has renewed his call for works to start immediately on a planned upgrade of what is a creaking local water main.

He pointed out that Roscommon County Council and Irish Water have reached agreement on the road replacement as part of the upgrade works.

Cllr Fitzmaurice has again described the current situation as “intolerable” for the people of Cloonfad and surrounding areas who have suffered about 50 bursts over the last number of years.
