More than 1,000 homes in Roscommon and surrounding areas still remain without power.

Storms Isha and Jocelyn which have battered the county since the weekend have caused widespread disruption to the electricity, broadband and road network.

ESB crews have been working constantly since the weekend to repair the damage to the electricy network caused by both storms. Council personnel have spent the last number of days clearing away debris and fallen trees from roads.

While most homes will have their power restored by tomorrow, some areas will still have wait a few more days before their electricity supply is restored.

The worst affected areas locally are in North and West Roscommon.

Nationally, almost 30,000 homes and businesses remained without power this morning.
