A motorcyclist in his 30s has died in a single vehicle road traffic collision in County Galway.
A motorcyclist in his 30s has died in a single vehicle road traffic collision in County Galway.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the fatal road traffic collision involving a single motorcycle at Carraghy, on the N83 Claregalway to Tuam road, County Galway.
Gardaí and emergency services responded to the collision at approximately 11.40 p.m. on Friday night.
The motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has since been removed to University Hospital Galway where a post-mortem examination will take place.
A forensic collision Iivestigators examination is currently being conducted at the scene.
The road remains closed at this time, with local diversions in place.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have been travelling on the N83 between Claregalway and Tuam between 11 p.m. and 11.40 p.m. to come forward.

Investigations are ongoing.
