Motorist with no insurance had ‘positive reading’ for several drugs when stopped in County Roscommon
Roscommon Roads Policing Unit stopped this vehicle on Wednesday
A motorist stopped by the Roscommon Roads Policing Unit on Wednesday afternoon returned a “positive reading” for a number of drugs and was also found to be driving without insurance.
According to gardaí the driver had a positive reading for Cocaine, Cannabis, Methamphetamines and Benzodiazepines.
Gardaí said that while on routine patrol the Roscommon Roads Policing Unit had reason to stop the vehicle.
“The driver was visibly intoxicated and a roadside drug test was carried out. The driver returned a positive reading for Cocaine, Cannabis, Methamphetamines and Benzodiazepines.
“The driver also had no driving licence and no insurance. The driver was arrested and the vehicle was seized.
"A court date is to follow,” said gardaí.
