Motorists fuming over traffic delays of up to 40 minutes
Many are blaming the installation of new traffic lights in the area the delays.
Motorists in South Roscommon are fuming over lengthy traffic delays over the past few days.
There have been numerous complaints from residents in the Monksland area about traffic delays of up to 40 minutes.
For the past number of evenings and mornings, traffic has been backed up significantly on the Old and New Tuam Roads, with cars bumper-to-bumper past the Cloonakilla NS school roundabout and out on to the Brideswell Road.
Many are blaming the installation of new traffic lights in the area the delays.
There are also reports of traffic backed up onto the dual carriage.
Roscommon County Council was contacted for comment on the issue.
