Nathan Carter offered alternative Boyle venue after church concert cancellation
Nathan Carter has been invited to perform at The Saddlers Inn in Kingsland, Boyle.
A Boyle live music venue has offered country singer Nathan Carter an alternative stage after the cancellation of his Christmas concert at St. Joseph's Church in the town.
The Saddlers Inn in Kingsland, Boyle has publicly invited the singer to relocate the concert to its venue following the cancellation of Carter's planned performance at the Catholic church on Sunday, December 13th.
The invitation comes amid local disappointment that the local church concert was called off following apparent concerns raised by parish priest Fr John Gannon about certain types of musical events being held in churches
In a social media post, The Saddlers Inn said it was "sorry to hear" of the cancellation and offered to host Carter on the same date. "Nathan - come back to Boyle!" the post read.
The venue noted that Carter last performed there in August 2013 during its festival, at a time when his career was taking off and 'Wagon Wheel' was becoming a nationwide hit.
"It would be fantastic to welcome him back to the stage where he played in the early days of his career," the post said.
The Saddlers said December 13th remains available and suggested the singer could choose the format of the event, whether a concert, dance or more intimate performance.
Saddlers Inn said it wanted to provide a practical solution and ensure music fans in Boyle and the surrounding area still have the chance to see the popular singer perform this Christmas.
Nathan Carter has been contacted for comment.
