The National Famine Museum in Strokestown is internationally recognised as the main interpreter of the Great Famine.

The National Famine Museum at Strokestown Park has received a Travellers' Choice Award for 2024 from Tripadvisor, the world's largest travel guidance platform.

This special recognition is awarded to an attraction based on reviews from the previous year. The top 10% attractions worldwide receive this particular award.

The Travellers' Choice awards honour visitors' favourite destinations, hotels, restaurants, and things to do, based on the reviews and opinions collected from travellers and diners around the world on Tripadvisor over a 12-month period.

The National Famine Museum is internationally recognised as the main interpreter of the Great Famine, a pivotal event in Ireland’s History.

Developed by the Irish Heritage Trust in partnership with Fáilte Ireland and owners of the property, Westward Holdings, the flagship facility opened in October 2022 following a €5m investment programme.

On the Strokestown Park Facebook page, delight was expressed that this first class visitor attraction had received the award.
