Plans for a new gym in South Roscommon have got the go-ahead from Roscommon County Council.

Metas Grandis Ltd. has been granted planning permission to develop the gym at Unit 8 in Monksland Retail Park.

The planning approval involves the unit’s change of use from retail to leisure.

The unit, with a gross floor area of 760 square metres, is currently vacant at the moment.

According to the planning documents, the operation of the gym will involve eight staff.

In relation to carparking provision, the planners noted that 30 of the 100 communal carparking spaces available are only occupied at peak time.
