New housing development gets greenlight
Permission has been granted for a new housing development in the county.
Roscommon County Council has given the green light, subject to 44 conditions, to 86 two and three-storey houses and apartments in Monksland.
According to the application, the development, which was sought by KDM Contracts Ltd, will consist of four 1-bedroom apartments; 16 2-bed apartments; four 2-bed semi-detached houses; 34 3-bed semi-detached and terraced houses; 28 5-bed semi-detached and terraced houses; one creche building of 361sqm for 60 children; a new singular residential access road with associated estate roads and footpaths; a public open space of 4,319sqm, as well as car parking and landscaping.
As part of the development, the application will also see the demolition of two bungalows and a two-storey house.
The application was first submitted in October of last year and a decision was made on August 28th subject to the conditions. Further information on the development had been sought by the council in December and subsequently received.
