New low-cost DIY store officially opens in County Roscommon
The new Re-Store, which was officially opened in Monksland, South Roscommon, earlier this week.
A new low-cost DIY store opened its doors in South Roscommon earlier this week.
Habitat Re-Store is located on the former EuroGiant site at Monksland Retail Park, Athlone.
The store offers a wide range of new and used building supplies at home improvement materials at affordable prices, aiming to support local communities and promote sustainability.
“We're so thankful for everyone who joined us this morning to officially launch ReStore in Athlone. It was wonderful to have such support from a range of local businesses, politicians, volunteers, organisations and churches, who all came along to celebrate with us.
“It was wonderful to see the newest Habitat ReStore launch today in Athlone. The social enterprise will bring some much-needed support for local people, providing low-cost DIY and home improvement materials, diverting tonnes of material from landfill, as well as training and volunteering support for the wider community.
"ReStore is a unique workplace which brings together people of all ages and backgrounds, where everyone has something to give and something to gain so I would encourage local people to get involved in volunteering,” said Jenny Williams, Chief Executive of Habitat for Humanity Ireland.
