No date yet for lifting Boil Water Notices in South Roscommon
Boil Water Notices affecting 7,644 customers in South Roscommon remain in place this morning.
Uisce Éireann said the notices, which issued on Sunday, will continue while it works with the HSE to ensure the water is safe to drink. There is no date yet for when the notices will be lifted.
“Uisce Éireann recognises that this latest issue comes after a mechanical issue at the plant over the weekend which impacted production at the water treatment plant,” a statement issued from the company said.
“We understand how frustrating and worrying it will be for people to now face a Boil Water Notice following those earlier interruptions. Please be assured our teams are working to restore normal water quality and have the notice lifted as quickly and safely as possible. We know how important a safe and reliable water supply is to everyday life, and we understand how difficult this latest disruption will be for households, businesses and the wider community in South Roscommon.
“People in the area have already experienced interruptions to their water supply, and we are very conscious that this Boil Water Notice creates further inconvenience and concern. We sincerely thank everyone in the community for their patience and cooperation.” The HSE was contacted for comment on this issue.
People can check whether their property is affected by visiting the Water Quality section of and entering their Eircode, or by contacting Uisce Éireann’s customer care team, available 24/7, on 1800 278 278.
