A fire broke at this vacant property in Williamstown in the early hours of this morning.

Fire services and Gardaí responded to a fire which broke out at a vacant building in Williamstown, County Galway in the early hours of this morning, Friday.

A Garda spokesperson said the fire was extinguished and no injuries were reported.

The scene is currently preserved for examination.

According to local reports, the former Credit Union building, which was under refurbishment, was being earmarked for refugees.
