Commuters on one of the busiest roads in South Roscommon are set to be hit by a second set of roadworks next week.

Roadworks at a new housing development, opposite Monksfield, on the R362 in Monksland are scheduled to begin on Monday, just a kilometre from roadworks already in place for over three months on the same road.

The roadworks are set to cause further headaches for motorists who have been dealing with traffic disruption on the same road between the Westpoint Business Centre and Junction 13 of the M6 since last May of this year.

Those electrical grid roadworks had been initially scheduled for completion by the end of July, but have been delayed by several weeks.

The R362 is the main artery towards a number of secondary and national schools in the area.
