The volume of litter left behind by users of a County Roscommon amenity area has caused deep upset and outrage in the community.
Ballyleague Tidy Towns took to social media to highlight the littering of the amenity area along the banks of river. "Following a beautiful day.... the inevitable," said the group. "It begs the question what and who are we? Animals wouldn't even leave a mess like this. No respect and no regard. More money than culture. Even clothes discarded."

Reacting to the littering, members of the public expressed their "disgust" and thanked Tidy Towns volunteers for their tireless work.
People have suggested that anyone who sees anyone doing this should step up and say it or ring the gardaí.
