Pedestrian in 'critical condition' following road collision

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a serious injury road traffic collision that occurred at Glebe Street, Ballinrobe, County Mayo on Thursday, August 20th at approximately 4.20 p.m..
Gardaí and emergency services responded to report of the collision, involving a car and a pedestrian.
The female pedestrian (aged in her 80’s) was conveyed from the scene to Mayo General Hospital, Castlebar for treatment of serious injuries, and remains in a critical condition.
No other injuries were reported at the time. The scene has been preserved for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward. Road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage and were travelling in the area of the N84 / Glebe Street, Ballinrobe between 3.50 p.m. and 4.50 p.m. on Thursday, August 20th are asked to make this available to investigating gardaí.
