Permission sought for new school building

A planning application has been submitted for a new modular building at one of the county’s secondary schools.
On October 7th, a planning application by the Galway Roscommon Education and Training Board was received by the council for a new development at Elphin Community College.
The GRETB is seeking permission for the demolition of an existing single storey dwelling house at the school, and the removal of all associated materials off site, and the erection of a new modular classroom building.
This new building on the site of the demolished dwelling house will comprise of two classrooms and an accessible WC, as well as new paths, and a retaining wall.
A decision by the council is expected by December 1st.
