Planning application for €30m project to be submitted
The flagship Hodson Bay project includes the development of a reimagined marina.
The planning application for the €30 million Hodson Bay Waterfront Park is to be submitted to An Coimisiún Pleanála imminently.
According to a planning notice advertised by Roscommon County Council, submissions/observations on the massive project should be received by the commission on or before 5.30 p.m. on October 16th 2026.
An Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIAR) and Natura Impact Statement (NIS) have been prepared for the proposed development.
The application documentation, including the EIAR and NIS, may be inspected free of charge, or purchased on payment of a specified fee during public opening hours from Tuesday, September 2nd 2026, to October 16th 2026 at the Office of An Coimisiún Pleanála, Dublin, and or at Áras an Chontae Roscommon Town, between 9.30 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 3.30 pm Monday to Friday. 7

Under the proposal, the existing marina will be doubled in size, the area's paving will be enhanced, and transport measures, such as improving facilities for cycling and walking, will be made. Improvements will also be made to the site's carparking. A new watersports pavilion building and cafe are also part of the project.
