Plans to re-open Ballaghaderreen Swimming Pool sink

Plans  to re-open Ballaghaderreen Swimming Pool have taken a nose dive this evening with the announcement that after extensive efforts, Ballaghaderreen Leisure Centre and the owners of the building where the pool is located, the former Abbeyfield Hotel now the Emergency Reception and Orientation Centre, have been unable to reach a mutual agreement regarding the terms of a contract.

"Unfortunately, this means that Ballaghaderreen Leisure Centre will be withdrawing from the negotiations," a statement this evening said.

"I sincerely apologise to the people of Ballaghaderreen for this disappointing outcome. Despite best intentions and hard work, unforeseen circumstances have not made it possible for this project to proceed as planned. Thank you for your support and understanding," said the statement.
