Plans to turn two former Garda stations into community facilities

The former Garda station in Tarmonbarry. There are plans to turn it into a creative community and tourism hub.

An architect led integrated design team is being sought to turn two former Garda stations in the county into community facilities.

Roscommon County Council has published a tender for an architect led integrated design team for the two projects, the development of the Ballintubber Holiday Lodge and Community Cafe, and Tarmonbarry Creative Community and Tourism Hub.

The works are part of the regeneration of the two former Garda station buildings. The successful contractor will bring the projects through the design and planning, construction, certification and handover stages.

Feasibility reports for the projects have already been completed. The value of the contractor, excluding VAT, is €200,000, and the duration of the contract is for 26 months.

The tender was published on the state’s tendering website, e-tender, and a deadline for submissions is January 22nd.
