Plans are under way to establish a new Foróige Club in Elphin for young people aged between 12 and 16.
The proposed club would operate on Friday evenings from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m., providing local teenagers with a safe and enjoyable place to meet, socialise and take part in activities.
Organisers are currently seeking volunteers from the local community to help get the initiative up and running.
Volunteers would be required to complete the appropriate Garda vetting process, with organisers indicating that even a commitment of approximately one hour per month could make a valuable contribution.
The initiative aims to create another positive social outlet for young people in the Elphin area while giving members of the community an opportunity to support local teenagers.
