A popular presence in a West Roscommon primary school has been wished the “very best of health and happiness” on her retirement.

Tarmon National School bid a fond and heartfelt farewell to Mary Ryan, who retired after 25 years of “dedicated service” to the school, at its end-of-year Mass on Wednesday.

In a post on Facebook, Tarmon National School said that Mary had worn many hats — from secretary to nurse, from bus escort and chef to confidante, and so much more.

“Her kindness, efficiency, and dedication have left a lasting mark on our school community. She will be sorely missed.

“We thank Mary sincerely for all she has given to our school and wish her the very best of health and happiness in this next chapter of her life,” said the school.
