Power out for several hundred homes

A major fault has caused a power outage for several hundred homes and businesses in the general Roscommon Town/Oran area tonight, Thursday.
A power outage affecting 961 homes in the area was reported to ESB Networks shortly before 9 p.m.. Close to 500 of these homes and businesses have since had power restored, but 479 customers remain affected by the outage.
ESB Networks says that its personnel are working on the fault, but no estimated restore time has yet been given for the remaining properties.
