Public warned about scam e-mail using name of parish priest

An alert has been issued this evening warning people to be on the alert for a scam e-mail using the name of a parish priest.

The community alert has been issued in the Leitrim Village area close to Carrick-on-Shannon. It warns people of a "fake email" in the name of a parish priest requesting the purchase of Apple gift cards for a cancer patient.
