Pump failure leads to disruption to water supplies in parts of County Roscommon

Uisce Éireann has responded to concerns over water supplies in West Roscommon.

A pump failure has led to disruption to water supplies in West Roscommon over the last 24 hours, Uisce Éireann has confirmed.

Responding to a query from the Roscommon Herald concerning reports of either no water or very little water pressure in areas of West Roscommon, Uisce Éireann said that the issue had been resolved and that the water supply should return to normal later today (Thursday).

“A pump failure at the Trien booster pumping station led to disruptions in supply to some Uisce Éireann customers in Ballinlough, Trien, Castlerea, Granlahan and surrounding areas over the last 24 hours.

“The pump has now been repaired and the pumping station is working at normal capacity. It may take 3-4 hours for the network to fully recharge, but customers who experienced outages or other supply disruptions over the last 24 hours should see their supply restored to normal by lunchtime today.

“Uisce Éireann acknowledges the inconvenience of an unplanned outage, and thanks impacted customers for their understanding,” said the statement from Uisce Éireann.
