Rambling House event for Cloonfad
Seamus Brogan, Paraic Price, Caroline Price, Collette Smith and Marion Brogan enjoying the recent Ballintubber Rambling House event held in Garvey's, Ballintubber.
A Rambling House event will take place on Sunday, February 11th in The Three Counties Function Room, Cloonfad.
The Rambling House was a traditional place where locals entertained themselves in Ireland with stories, song and dance, long before modern technology came along.
Everyone is warmly invited and people are more than welcome to bring a story, a song or their dancing shoes.
The event is in partnership with Alone, Roscommon Leader Partnership and the Suck Valley Way.

Following a similar Rambling House event recently in Ballintubber Vladyslav Morhulets commented: Having visited this event in Ballintubber, which was organised to support people who may suffer from loneliness, I realised once more how important it is to have your community and your people around. I want to say thank you to Anthony Waldron who invited and brought myself there. It was also valuable for me since I can relate to those living in isolation, because I am based in Donamon Castle and do not have much interaction with people. The event brought some happiness and light to my life and I will remember about that day for a long time. I appreciate everyone who came and everyone who performed that day. Well done folks. Keep it up.”
Meanwhile Anastasiia Kovalenko commented: “Thanks to Anthony Waldron for inviting me. It meant a lot because I live in Donamon Castle and I don't meet many people. The event made me happy, and I'll remember that day too. Thanks to everyone who came and performed.”
