The refurbished Ballaghaderreen Library is expected to re-open on July 31st, according to public representatives.
This evening the Cathaoirleach of Roscommon County Council, Cllr Liam Callaghan, said he was delighted with the news.
He said that the new library would “bring a modern image” to the services available to the general public.
“Stocking of the library is currently underway and the temporary library will close on July 28th to allow all stock to be transferred,” said a delighted Cllr Callaghan.
Meanwhile, Sinn Féin TD Claire Kerrane said that she attended a meeting in Dillon House earlier this week where the final remaining items were identified and reported on.
“Once these are closed out by the contractor, we will be in a position receive official handover of the building. Assuming official handover takes place in the next week, it is anticipated that the refurbished library in Dillon House will reopen to the public on Thursday, July 31st,” said Deputy Kerrane.
