Roscommon boy wins Gold for Ireland

A Roscommon boy has won a gold medal at the British Transplant Games.
The son of Emma and Jason, ten year old Donnacha Horan from Fairymount came first in the 2.5k Race at the British Transplant Games, where he was representing Ireland.
His local GAA club, Western Gaels, congratulated him, saying he has done his family, parish and his Club, Western Gaels, more than proud.
“This is a huge achievement,” the club said. “ From all of us here at Western Gaels Donnacha, we are so proud of you and you are nothing only a shining star for the future.”
Donnacha, who also competed in a number of other events at the games, was diagnosed with a serious liver condition at just two years of age. He had two liver transplants in 2022, when he was aged six.
