Roscommon County Council completes 16 new homes in €3.5m development
Sixteen new social housing units have been completed at Cnoc na hAbhainn, Boyle.
The construction of 16 new social housing units in a €3.5m development at Cnoc na hAbhainn in Boyle has been completed.
Contracts for the project were formally signed by Roscommon County Council on July 25th, 2024.
The new development comprises eight different house types, including nine two bedroom, six three bedroom, and one four bedroom unit, along with associated site works and services.
Design for the project was undertaken by the TA Group, based in Kiltimagh, while construction was carried out by Finna Construction Ltd, Cong. Construction commenced in August 2024 and was completed in December.

This €3.5m development was funded by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage through the Social Housing Investment Programme and delivered by Roscommon County Council’s housing department.
Director of services Chris Flynn said the completed project reflected the council’s ongoing work under the Housing for All programme to provide A rated, energy efficient homes that supported sustainable community growth.
“This development raises the bar in terms of residential design that integrates sustainable communities as a fundamental principle reinforcing the council’s long term strategy for high quality public housing.
“The project follows the successful delivery during 2025 of numerous housing initiatives across the county, including new units in Monksland, Castlerea, Roscommon town, Elphin, Cortober and Strokestown, demonstrating strong progress in meeting local housing needs,” said Mr Flynn.
Roscommon County Council thanked the design and construction partners, noting their strong track record in delivering high quality residential projects on time and on budget.
