Roscommon native appointed Brazilian Ambassador 

Martin Gallagher, Ireland’s new ambassador to Brazil.

Lisacul native Martin Gallagher has been appointed as Ireland’s ambassador to Brazil. 

He was nominated for the role by Tánaiste Simon Harris earlier this year.

Mr. Gallagher had been Consular Director (Crisis Planning and International Travel) for the Department of Foreign Affairs for just under two years.

The Lisacul native has over two decades of experience working in foreign affairs for the UN and within the Department of Foreign Affairs.

He is a former student of St. Nathy’s College, Ballaghaderreen.
