Roscommon has been ranked joint seventh in Ireland's best counties for a summer walk.
With the sun still shining, new analysis by outdoor specialist store Trailblazers has ranked Ireland's best counties for a summer walk, revealing which county offers walkers more than anywhere else.
Trailblazers combined Ireland's trails with Google Trends search data to rank counties by trails, distance and demand.
The results show that County Cork is Ireland's walking capital, topping the table with 168 walking trails and over 1,340km, more than any other county.
Kerry is the county the nation most wants to walk, ranking as the most-searched hiking destination in the country and home to Ireland's highest peak, Carrauntoohil.
In seventh place is Roscommon with 38 trails and 192 kms. It was joined on this ranking by Wexford with 79 trails covering 341 kms and Wicklow with 55 tails spreading across 263.
Mayo with 92 trails and 777 kms ranks fourth and Galway ranks fifth with 55v trails over 418 kms.
Counties across every region make the list, from Donegal's Bluestack Way to the Waterford Greenway, Dublin’s Howth cliff loops to Galway’s Diamond Hill, showing a standout walk is rarely far away wherever you are.
