Roscommon school gets go-ahead for community garden and games area

Granlahan National School has been given the go-ahead for a community garden and games area.
Roscommon County Council has granted planning approval to the school’s Board of Management for the new garden which will include a walking track and sensory garden.
The other key feature in the wider development will see the construction of a new multi-use games area (MUGA).
The project at Grange Townland incorporates new car parking and a drop-off area while a new footpath will be constructed along the public road.
To clear the grounds for construction, permission has been granted for the demolition of a derelict dwelling and outbuildings, alongside all necessary site preparation works.
