Roscommon teen finalist in national junior brown bread baking competition

Sinead Murray (14) who has been named as one of the eight finalists for the National Junior Brown Bread Baking Competition.

A 14-year-old County Roscommon student has been named as one of the eight finalists in the National Junior Brown Bread Baking competition.

Sinead Murray (14) from Cloontuskert, County Roscommon said she was “ so excited” to be picked for the brown bread competition and attend the National Ploughing Championships for the first time.

The semi-finals will take place at the National Ploughing Championships in Screggan, Tullamore, on September 15th and 16th with the final on the morning of September 17th.

The winning junior baker will receive a €1,500 Euronics voucher, with an additional €1,500 Euronics voucher awarded to their school. 

The three finalists on the 17th will win a €250 Euronics voucher and all other finalists will be given a €100 Euronics voucher and a NEFF hamper.
