Roscommon rugby hero Darragh Murray has been praised in his local parish.
During Sunday Mass, Parish Priest Fr Michael McManus asked parishioners to join him in a round of applause for the Brideswell man, which the sportsman's friends and neighbours gladly did.
The former St Brigid's and Roscommon minor footballer scored his first try only minutes after entering the Aviva Stadium against Scotland, helping his country secure the coveted Triple Crown on Saturday.
St Bridgid's GAA Club also extended its congratulations as did Darragh's former school Brideswell NS.
