The 2024 Rose of Roscommon is young Ballyforan woman Rachel Hastings
The 27-year-old lecturer who was sponsored by new County Roscommon business, The Best Free From, was crowned the 2024 Rose in front a packed crowd in the Abbey Hotel, Roscommon on Saturday night.
Rachel, whose background is in Home Economics, has a passion for sustainability and competed in Atlanta, Georgia with a top she designed as part of a competition at St. Angela's College, Sligo.
She says her goals and aspirations are to be happy, healthy and successful in life.
Each year with her sister she runs an Easter Camp, which has raised over €10,000 in the last five years for local charities- Mayo Roscommon Hospice, Joseph Belton, Roscommon Special Olympics, and Nicola Brennan Murphy.
Rachel will now represent the county at the 2024 Rose of Tralee in August.
