Visiting hours at Roscommon University Hospital are currently limited to normal visiting times only, the HSE has said.

In a statement this evening, the hospital said that as there is an outbreak of Covid-19 at the moment, access for visitors to the hospital is currently limited to normal visiting times only.

“Hospital visiting times will continue between 2pm to 4pm and 6.30pm and 8.30pm. However, please adhere to the limit of two visitors per patient,” the hospital said.

“Visiting outside of the normal visiting hours can be arranged on compassionate grounds by contacting the relevant ward.

“With the Easter weekend approaching, visitors are requested to comply with the visiting arrangements and co-operate with hospital staff who are ensuring the arrangements are adhered to."

In an effort to control the spread of infection, RUH is appealing to the public not to visit if they have any symptoms of Covid, flu or any viral illness.

"Masks will be available for all visitors at the entrance of the hospital and visitors are asked to practice good hand hygiene and to use the available hand gel regularly.” RUH said it would like to thank members of the public for their co-operation at this time.
