Safety lights being installed at Roscommon school

New safety periodic lights are being installed at Tulsk National School.
New safety periodic lights are being installed at Tulsk National School.
The lights will operate a 40km speed limit at the school during school time.
“There was concern locally when the revised speed limits went to 60 km at the school but I had sought a commitment at the time for periodic safety lights and I am now happy they are installed for the safety of the parents, staff and children attending the school,” said Fine Gael Councillor Liam Callaghan.
Meanwhile, Cllr Callaghan has sought an update on active travel funding of over €100,000 for Croghan National School.
The matter was raised at a meeting of Boyle Municipal District where Cllr Callaghan was informed that works will commence in September/October.
Cllr Callaghan said he was hoping the works, which would improve access at the school for parking, drop-off and pedestrian safety would commence during the school holiday period but contract documents had been delayed over final design issues.
