Scene of house fire preserved for examination

The scene of a blaze at a house in the Tarmon Manor estate on the edge of Castlerea town is being preserved for examination to establish the precise cause of the fire, Roscommon Fire Service has said.
Fire Services and gardaí responded to reports of a fire at a house in the town shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening.
"The fire was extinguished and the scene is currently preserved for examination to establish the precise cause of the fire," said Roscommon Fire Service.
It is understood that the property was gutted by the blaze. A man was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene and later transferred to hospital.
