Specialist company hired to assist in house explosion investigation

A specialist company has been drafted in from the UK to assist in the investigation into the house explosion in Frenchpark which claimed the life of 72-year-old Des Deegan.
The specialist team arrived on site today, Friday, to examine the rubble of the house which was completely destroyed on Wednesday evening.
Local residents in The Oaks estate in Frenchpark village recounted hearing the sound of an explosion before the house went on fire.
The UK team was appointed by the Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU), which also has representatives on site today.
One of the CRU’s areas of responsibility is the regulation of energy safety.
