Stage set for Roscommon Rose of Tralee selection night

The Roscommon Rose of Tralee selection night will take place in the Abbey Hotel Ballroom, Roscommon tonight, Saturday, June 1st.
Twelve Roses from across County Roscommon will be put through their paces with a series of interviews throughout this morning and evening. Their individual, group and stage interviews will be marked by three independent judges.
Hot Press Readers Poll Radio DJ (National) Winner 2024 and radio presenter Fergal D'Arcy will be the compere on the night.
Chairperson of the Roscommon Rose Centre and co-ordinator Yvonne Donohue said: "The excitement is just fantastic in the build-up to our Roscommon Rose of Tralee selection. There is a great buzz amongst our Roses and this year the competition is extremely strong. We wish all our Roses the very best of luck. We also wish the judges good luck. Each one of our fabulous Roses possess her own unique qualities and we know whichever Rose is selected, she will do us all proud in the International Rose of Tralee Festival 2024 and beyond.”
Yvonne added that they were looking forward to a wonderful evening in the Abbey Hotel “where we guarantee the atmosphere will be electric. Thank you to all the local businesses especially our main sponsors for 2024 the Roscommon Herald and to our Roses’ own sponsors, families, friends and communities who have been and continue to be so supportive throughout.”
Special guest on the night will be the 2022 Roscommon Rose winner Bernie Ryan (Donnelly) who will share her Roscommon Rose experiences. There will be a raffle, "Guess the Winning Rose", Best Poster/Banner prize and Roscommon's Most Popular Escort. The grand finale will be the announcement of the Roscommon Rose of Tralee 2024. Music and dancing to follow and refreshments served.
Roscommon's newly selected Roscommon Rose will go forward to represent the county in Tralee for the duration of the International Rose of Tralee Festival in August. She will be on tour across Ireland with the other Roses and enjoy all the wonderful festivities and live televised final.
The Roscommon selection night is a ticket only event. Formalities will kick off at 7.30 p.m. with guests arriving from 6.30 p.m..
