Supermacs launches picture menu in Carrick store

Sinéad Earley and Ger Casey, Manager Supermacs Carrick-on-Shannon with the new picture menu available at Supermacs in Carrick-on-Shannon.
The launch of a Supermacs prototype ‘picture menu’ took placed at the Carrick-on-Shannon store recently.
The idea was suggested by local woman Sinéad Earley, who approached Supermacs manager Ger Casey in Carrick-on-Shannon with a suggestion to make a picture menu of their food.
A picture paints a thousand words and using pictures when ordering can really promote independence and inclusion in society.
Ger and Supermacs designers welcomed the idea and have been collaborating with Sinéad and advocates within the Brothers of Charity Services to develop the menu to its current form.

This simple assistive aid will benefit people who are non-speaking, children and those who find the text on the display boards difficult to read. It can also be brought to the table before ordering, for anyone who needs more time to make their selection.
The picture menu will be available on the counter and by request and will be on trial in the Carrick store until the end of February.
