Fianna Fail newcomer Sean Moylan, outgoing Fine Gael councillor Liam Callaghan and outgoing Independent councillor Tom Crosby have filled the last three of the 18 seats on Roscommon County Council.

The three were elected tonight on the tenth count in the Boyle Local Electoral Area (LEA). This particular contest also included a day-long recount.

The first three seats in this LEA had already been filled by outgoing Independent councillor Valerie Beirne, Sinn Fein’s Leah Cull and Independent candidate Micheal Frain.

Tonight’s result brings the 2024 Roscommon Local Elections to a conclusion.

The new council makeup comprises eight independent seats - a loss of one seat; five Fianna Fail seats, a loss of one seat; four Fine Gael, an increase of two; while Sinn Fein has held on to its seat.
