There are currently three social housing schemes underway across the county, comprising a total of 23 houses, according to latest data.
The information emerged following a response from Housing Minister Darragh O’Brien to a written parliamentary question submitted by Dublin Mid-West Sinn Fein TD Eoin Ó Broin.
Deputy Ó Broin was seeking national data on the number of social housing schemes currently underway using the Part 8 derogation including the number of units to be delivered.
The information supplied, including the three schemes in Roscommon with a combined total of 23, relates to the number of units where site notices have been issued by each local authority as of the end of Quarter 4 2023.
Minister O’Brien said that data for Quarter 1 2024 had been requested from local authorities and would be available in due course.
